Lake Wissota Stewardship Project
Clean Water. Bright Future.
Current Events
April - October 2026
Help us monitor lake conditions around Lake Wissota with our End of Dock Monitoring program! You can join at any time between April and October if you reside on Lake Wissota.

Simply walk out to the end of your dock on Lake Wissota and fill out our online form.
Link: End of Dock Monitoring JotForm

Commitment:
10 minutes, 1 day / week

Impact:
The digital data from JotForm will be used to develop an online lake quality viewer which tracks the lake conditions through the summer. Anyone can view it to help them plan their day at Lake Wissota and know in advance if there are great or poor lake conditions.

Email lwsp@chippewacountywi.gov for more information or if you would like a hard copy of the monitoring form.

Submit Photos at our Fixed Point Photo Stations
Anyone with a mobile phone can take photos of Lake Wissota at our Photo Stations! These stations are at a fixed point, meaning they won't ever move, and they help us keep track of algal conditions and other water quality issues. We use these photos to tack our progress over time as we and landowners implement projects within the watershed.

Interns, staff, and volunteers go out at least once a month to photograph each site and upload it to a Story Map. Scroll down past the directions map to find the link if you want to see how the lake has changed each month since the stations were established in 2024!

Search for the stand at each location, then follow the instructions to submit your photos.

Each stand has these instructions on or beside it!
